NEXA has just been awarded the contract by the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, to deliver their Patient Queuing and Patient Management System across three locations within their Parkville site for a planned rollout in 2013 and early 2014.

Q-Flow and V-Flow will provide patients and their families with self check-in opportunities via a SmartPhone App and Self Service Kiosks.  The solution includes a Write To and Write Back bi-directional interface to their Patient Administration System (PAS) and patients will be provided with customised and relevant instructions.

The solution also includes the ability to de-clutter waiting areas through SMS text messaging to the families’ mobile phone and sophisticated management of Digital Media displays.  Once a patient has checked-in, if clinics are running late, they are free to utilise other waiting ‘activities’ such as the outdoor play areas, the aquarium or the Meerkat enclosure – instead of sitting outside the clinic!  Q-Flow will monitor wait times and inform the patients when they are ready to be seen by their clinician.

Utilising V-Flow, Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, will be able to display real time corporate information and patient announcements.

Other system benefits include the ability for Q-Flow to automatically generate the patient attendance and billing records which will save clinicians and administration officers significant time and cost.

Q-Flow and V-Flow will lead to enhancing staff productivity and optimising the patient experience.
